THE PROCESS AND WHAT TO EXPECT:

I) Your Personal, No Obligation Consultation

This is the time to collaborate and talk the necessary details before we take any pictures. Upon your initial inquiry, I will send you an informative welcome guide with more details and from there you can decide if you would like to do a one on one consultation with me. For local inquiries, I will come to meet with you personally to see your space, look at available wall space and talk about how I can tailor my skill to match what you hope for so we can create images that you are thrilled with! If you are not local, we can meet online to speak. Either way, we will go over what kinds of pictures are meaningful to you, what feel and style you envision, what location is most appropriate for the session, budget, any questions or concerns of yours and will be addressed. We will talk about product ideas that could potentially house your images. Overall, just a one on one to see if this is a good fit before deciding to move forward. If we all feel confidently secure and thrilled that this is a good fit, an agreement form will be sent to you for your review and signature, along with your retainer fee to secure your date.

II) Your Photoshoot

Depending on what environment best suits your self, pet, family, or work atmosphere to get the personal feel you're going for, will determine where we shoot. The day of your photo session will take place either in the comfort of your home or an agreed upon location that will typically last around up to 2 hours, depending on the needs of the session. I will not rush or hurry along the session as each session is unique in needs. Your shoot can have some unpredictable moments, and I find letting things happen organically along with how we plan your shoot can create some emotionally valuable photography. I will have an assistant but if two or more dogs are to be photographed, an owner will also need to also be present to help assist to make this efficient and fun for all. If people are going to join pups or horses in the session, we can start or end with those shots and the bulk of the session will have the spotlight on your animal, unless the main focus is the owner and animals together for the entire session.

III) Your Image Reveal +

Product/Art Delivery

Within about a week of your session, we will meet together to review the images together. Here, you will have the opportunity to view  the finest images we have shot and you will get to handpick and secure your desired portraits and digitals. To be clear, you do have an 250 credit value that comes with your session, and there is no pressure to purchase more, or you can apply your credit towards a collection or another product during this time. I'll be right there to help pick out the best images that will make for cherished artwork. Typically, within 3-4 weeks, you will receive your amazing products to admire and enjoy! Custom installment plans can be tailored to individual needs.

Frequently asked questions

What About Digitals?

I offer 3 digital collections. All purchased artwork comes with the corresponding retouched digital image. With the photography I offer, it is valuable to have and hold tangible images for you to view and feel, and not just to store on digital devices, unless only digital image serves a unique purpose, in which I can tailor to your needs.

How Should I Prepare For A Pet Session?

depending on grooming needs, you could plan on grooming up to a week before the session. Eyes are the window to the spirit and making sure no clumps of fur are covering your dog's eyes on the day of. Exercise your pup before the session, just enough to alleviate any over-excitement but not so much that they are worn out for the session. This is not necessary if your dog is a senior or low energy. Favorite treats, toys (and favorite people) are a plus to have on hand.

On Location Shoots... What If My Dog Cannot Be Off Leash?

safety and comfort are top priorities, so collars and leashes usually stay on depending on the location and can be retouched out of chosen purchased artwork.

Anxious Dogs, or Humans?

I understand that some dogs do have particular needs, anxiety and nervousness of unfamiliar places, sounds, things and people. This is discussed in the consultation so I may be aware and sensitive to specific concerns. This is the time to decide if in studio, in home or on location and what sort of lighting is best suited to their needs.

Pricing?

Creative fees vary for commissions. Personal commissions start at 450, included with the session is a value of 250 to be applied as a credit towards wall art or a digital collection of your choice. My digital collections start at 1250. Pricing can vary as I can tailor packages and art product pricing to match the individual client needs, a service I am eager to extend to you, which can be discussed in detail during your personal consultation. Installment plans will be considered.  Half of the fee will be due at the time of booking, along with a signed agreement to retain photography services on your requested date. PET OWNERS: What Is The Purpose Of Your Photography Session Interest?

You may want a sophisticated fine art posed portrait with your animal with a studio like setting, or outside, or posed lightly in your home or office, perhaps with some room for candid moments, any of these for the purpose of documenting the relationship bond or the personality and unique traits to create lasting, emotionally resonant memories of beloved pets. You may want portraits for the purpose of show and breeding, creating portfolio-worthy images for breeders and show animals, while that is an option, that is the end goal and that sort of shoot would not necessarily highlight mood and personality. So is the purpose to document the animal bond and highlight personality, or is the purpose to have a prized show portrait, maybe some sort of combination to create heirloom-quality artwork that can be displayed prominently in the home, office or portfolio? Perhaps one wants to showcase their service in the animal care industry and that is the purpose of the session to create engaging and authentic brand imagery, adding sophistication and visual interest to pet-focused publications and websites. So knowing what purpose these images are for, why are these photographs important, how will the shooting environment tell a story, what do you envision for the pictures such as displays for home or office decor, heirloom keepsakes, branding content etc.
