I invite YOU to a personal session with me so I may provide you with timeless artwork that celebrates your faithful friend in a sophisticated fashion.

My photography style focuses on capturing a blend of emotion, dramatic lighting and a fine art finish often incorporating elements of rich warmth, grandeur and whimsy. I aim to employ interplays of shadow and light, both in my natural light captures and studio lighted images. Inspired by historical periods, I like to infuse into some of my work hints of early 20th century vintage for an Old Masters aesthetic.

It is important this style and approach resonates with what you envision for your images.

:: meet Alisha ::

I am North Carolina born and raised, but life has brought me to the state of Texas and I now reside and work in Austin. I started  photographing animals in 2008 when my business originally started in Asheville, NC. Even though I do some human portraits, as I value relational imagery, I have a special interest to work with animals too. I understand the importance of their lives and our animals should be valued  for the joy, companionship, loyalty and bits of laughter we share with them. It really is a treasure to have a professional photograph of your beloved animal(s), and that is what I want to do for you, to give you because every pet deserves a portrait that mirrors the worth of their presence in your life. I would love to create an elegant, soulful portrait of your animal that will make your heart sing!!

A known fact about me is that I appreciate a good sense of humor in life! You have to admit, our animals can have some funny characteristics and quirks, so I make sure to capture that about them for you. I like to document emotion, whether they are stoic, funny, or tender moments. My hope is to capture their personality as you know them. I am here and available to provide this service for you, and would be delighted to do so!

Travel

Travel

I have a thing for nature and history. I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to travel and see some breathtaking sights, experience different cultures and see where history took place. What is most fascinating to me is natural beauty like Cliffs of Moher in Ireland or seeing the Alps, the Redwoods, Antelope Canyon, sights that keep me in awe of God’s handiwork! Also, being able to set foot on some historical sites like being inside the Colosseum or the Sistine Chapel, taking a ride to the top of the Eiffel tower to overlook Paris, visiting World War II historical sites in Holland, and Mayan ruins in Mexico. To feel what it’s like to be there doesn’t compare to seeing it in pictures or reading about it, it’s truly been impactful to see these places. I will say hand feeding kangaroos in Australia was a very cool experience!  I keep a bucket list of future places I hope to see like Iceland, Israel or New Zealand although I don’t know that I will get to visit but you never know.

Dogs! Dogs! Dogs!

Dogs! Dogs! Dogs!

Yes, I have a sweet spot for animals, that’s a given, but with that comes years upon years of experience with dogs in particular in various arenas. I have seemed to find myself in forms of work involving dogs from holistic nutrition experience, water treadmill rehab, and a lot of dog sitting between Asheville, San Antonio and Austin. I am proficient in knowing canine body language and mannerisms, and careful to look out for their well being, and I bring that experience into my portrait sessions.
